E-books
Pisces publish an increasingly wide range of works in electronic format, including monographs, accounts of Victorian botanists and explorers, and classic identification guides. Many of the old texts we deal with are so rare or long out-of-print as to be almost impossible to obtain; Pisces make these classics available once more.
Titles include:
- "Land and Water Bugs", Southwood & Leston
- "On the Origin of Species", Charles Darwin
- "Notes of a Botanist on the Amazon and Andes", Richard Spruce
- "British Water Beetles", Balfour-Browne
- "Natural History of Selborne", Gilbert White
Pisces e-books are supplied on CD as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. The PDF format is well known, extremely versatile, and will run on both Windows and Mac operating systems. E-books are carefully scanned from the originals, proof-read, saved as fully-searchable text, and paginated exactly as the original, so that all page and index references remain correct. Plates and images are carefully scanned before embedding in the e-book, and in most cases are available separately on the CD as high resolution images.
All titles are now available both on CD-ROM and as downloads from our shop. More details on all our e-book publications are available
on our software website.
